U-NEE Open-and-Close Eye Head | More Natural and Expressive Looks

Even the slightest change around the eyes can dramatically alter the overall impression of an expression.
Building on our movable-mouth soft head, U-NEE has introduced an adjustable eye mechanism that allows the upper and lower eyelids to be controlled independently.
Rather than being limited to fully open eyes, you can adjust the degree of opening to create a variety of expressions, including fully open eyes, half-closed eyes, closed eyes, and even winks.
Upper and Lower Eyelids Can Be Adjusted Independently
U-NEE’s open-and-close eye system does more than simply change the direction of the eyes. Thanks to the movable mechanism inside the head, the upper and lower eyelids can be finely adjusted independently.
By gently adjusting the eyelids with your fingers, you can create a range of natural expressions—from fully open eyes to a slightly sleepy, half-closed look, or completely closed eyes—allowing you to match different photography scenes and character concepts.
More Than Closed Eyes — Create a Wink
Since the left and right eyes can be adjusted independently, you can do more than simply close both eyes. By keeping one eye open while closing the other, you can also create a wink.
Combined with adjustable eye direction, the same head can produce a wide variety of expressions.
Looking straight ahead creates a clear and lively impression, while slightly lowering the eyelids can create a softer, calmer mood.
For those who enjoy photography and character expression, one of the key advantages is the ability to create different moods through subtle adjustments without changing the head.
Combine with Movable Eyes for Even More Expressive Looks
In addition to opening and closing the eyelids, the viewing direction of the eyes on U-NEE heads can also be adjusted.
By combining eye direction with the degree of eyelid opening, you can create a much wider variety of expressions than with fixed eyes.
For example, a slightly downward gaze combined with half-closed eyes creates a very different character impression from wide-open eyes looking directly forward—even when using exactly the same head.
From Static Sculpting to More Flexible Expression
At U-NEE, we value not only beautiful sculpting but also the freedom for users to create and explore their own character expressions.
That is why, in addition to the movable mouth and jaw mechanism, we have introduced an adjustable upper and lower eyelid structure.
By combining eyelid movement, eye direction, and mouth movement, a single head can produce a much broader range of expressions and possibilities for photography.
These changes may seem subtle at first glance, but it is precisely these small differences in expression that can bring even greater depth and personality to a character.
Important Notes for Use
When adjusting the eyelids, please use the pads of your fingers and apply gentle pressure.
Take care to protect the eyebrows and eyelashes during adjustment. Avoid applying pressure directly with your fingernails or pulling strongly around the eye area.
Make small adjustments slowly and gradually until you achieve the desired degree of eye opening for photography or display.
